of key metrics, assisting companies with strategic insight and
decision-making.

Achieve
cost savings with rapid dashboard development using Dundas DashFlow
With its rich user experience, wizard-driven interfaces and
collaborative workflow, dashboard production and deployment is measured
in days rather than months. Our vast experience has given us insight
into the best ways of building dashboards - and we’ve applied this to
the DashFlow™ model. DashFlow is a parallel workflow involving the
definition of business metrics, the discovery and preparation of data
behind the metrics and dashboard design/development. Benefits include
the reduction of development time, the ability to create
proof-of-concept dashboards (without having to connect to actual data)
and the best utilisation of personnel resources, by working
independently.

Empower more of your workers with the digital dashboards they need
to succeed
In the past, dashboard creation was in the realm of IT and
development. With Dundas Dashboard, your IT staff and your business
users are empowered with the tools they need to build the exact
dashboard they require to be more effective workers.
Dundas Dashboard facilitates this by allowing workers to communicate
through dashboards, as well as getting them more involved in
participating in the actual dashboard-creation process. This in turn
leads to less information lag, getting timely data in the hands of those
who need it.
We believe no one knows dashboarding better than Dundas. Now
that you've had a look at what Dundas Dashboard can do for you, why not
take the next step?

afterthought). It provides you with the ability to customise and
extend our platform as your needs evolve. With Dundas Dashboard:
- Business intelligence professionals and designers can customise
all dashboard elements to match organisational requirements
(branding, interactivity, aesthetics and more).

delivering a rich Internet application (RIA). Designing dashboards
is a visual task and Silverlight facilitates a simple design experience
by implementing drag-and-drop functionality and stunning visual effects.
Dundas Dashboard's RIA architecture means that upgrades happen only on
the server, for simple
maintainability and deployment.
In addition, Dundas Dashboard offers:
- Enterprise-grade scalability and maintainability

-
And much, much more.

Dundas DashFlow™: A Proven Collaborative Approach
What is DashFlow?
DashFlow is a proven workflow that has shown to be the most expedient
way to create dashboards. Dundas has used this development process for
many years and we have brought this best practice to Dundas Dashboard.
The DashFlow process allows organisations to significantly decrease
development time. What follows is a brief description of DashFlow - with
a mention of the personnel resources who would participate in quickly
building dashboards.
There are three major tasks in Dashflow:
- Defining the business metrics (business analysts)
- Designing and developing dashboards (business users and
analysts)
- Discovery and preparation of data behind business metrics
(database administrators/IT staff)
Dundas Dashboard is a unique product in that it applies the most
important principle of DashFlow: Start by defining business metrics.
Most, if not all, dashboard solutions take a linear approach in creating
dashboards and start with the data. DashFlow lets you begin the
process with your business metrics, so you will be able to design the
dashboards AND discover the data behind the business metrics - all at
the same time.
The traditional approach to dashboard development:

Optimised dashboard development with DashFlow:

The benefits of this approach include:
- Essentially cutting your development time in half
- Elicit stakeholder buy-in sooner by quickly creating
proof-of-concept (PoC) dashboards without having to connect to
actual data (via KPI stubbing)
- Maximise the utilisation of resource expertise by personnel
working independently and only on their relevant tasks
Dundas Consulting utilises DashFlow when creating custom dashboard
solutions for Fortune 500 companies around the world. All these projects
have been successful and we have transitioned the successful process to
Dundas Dashboard.
Benefits of DashFlow
Time Savings in Dashboard Development
With Dashflow, database administrators and IT staff can focus
preparing data for the business metrics while the business users can
start designing and implementing the dashboards. This parallel
development effort essentially cuts development time in half!
Get Stakeholder Buy-in Sooner
With Dashflow, those driving the dashboard initiative can
independently and quickly build functional and visually stunning
dashboards without having to hook up to any data. Stakeholders
will see right away what they will be getting and how it will work.
By getting support and approval early, the development effort will start
sooner shortening the project schedule. In fact, the PoC can be
hooked up to real data afterwards for production.
Maximise the Use of Personnel’s Expertise
DashFlow breaks out tasks specific to various roles within a
dashboard initiative. This allows business analysts, database
administrators, business users, graphic artists, and other resources to
utilise their expertise for one or more of these tasks. They can
work independently once the business metrics are defined facilitating
multiple resources to work in parallel.
