Create powerful zonal forms processing software recognizing OCR (machine print characters), ICR (hand print characters), OMR (optical marks), and MICR. This .NET control, COM component, or VCL includes powerful form recognition and form drop out technology, extensive image clean up options, and field based processing. Configurable speed settings are available to suit various application and budget requirements.

SmartZone OCR is the upgrade path for customers currently using SmartScan Xpress ICR/OCR/OMR for zonal OCR only. FormFix is the upgrade path for customers requiring form identification, form registration, form dropout, and OMR features previously included in SmartScan Xpress ICR/OCR/OMR. The SmartZone and FormFix components are included in the FormSuite product. The new version includes improved recognition, powerful new form recognition, new drop out technology, and enhanced image clean up options. Version 4 also includes a new, easy to use Forms Editor application designed to quickly and accurately generate form processing instructions.

• Add and remove forms from a reference database
• Matches scanned forms against user defined templates for form identification
• Normalises scanned data to the data positions defined by the template, adjusting for size variations, warping, shrinking, and stretching introduced through scanning and copying documents
• Automatically applies a scaling factor to rationalise scanned forms to the template images, including automatic rotation from 90, 180, and 270 degrees
• Programmatic control over form drop out, stroke restoration
• Form drop out improves recognition by eliminating unnecessary lines/combs/distractions
